TerBush, TE suspended for opener

Purdue quarterback Caleb TerBush and tight end Sterling Carter will serve a one-game suspension for a violation of team rules, Purdue coach Danny Hope announced in a statement.

The Boilermakers open the season in about 30 minutes against Eastern Kentucky.

TerBush started all 13 games for the Boilermakers last season. The suspension means Robert Marve will start at quarterback.

This is the first meeting between the two teams. Eastern Kentucky's offense is led by Matt Denham, who rushed for 1,570 yards last season.

It isn't raining now, but it remains to be seen if weather will play a factor.
