The Fort Wayne TinCaps closed out the regular season with a 5-2 win over the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Monday, salvaging a doubleheader split.
Bowling Green won the opener 5-4 at Bowling Green Ballpark.
James Jones pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief to get the win for Fort Wayne. Lee Orr hit a home run and double to pace the offense.
In the opener, the TinCaps led 4-2 after three innings but were unable to hold on. Starter Colin Rea took the loss after Bowling Green scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth.
The TinCaps open the playoffs at 7:05 Wednesday at Parkview Field against Lansing.
