A steel industry supplier is setting up shop in Whitley County, where it expects to create up to 22 jobs by 2015, county officials announced today.
Indiana Materials Processing LLC will open a production facility in Rail Connect Business Park, east of Columbia City, the Whitley County Economic Development Corp. said in a news release.
Abid Bengali, the company’s owner, cited the available workforce, cost of doing business and the location’s proximity to Indiana Materials Processing’s customers as factors in Columbia City’s favor.
The company sells feedstock to steel mills and foundries.
Construction is set to begin soon. Hiring will begin after Oct. 1. Positions will include supervisors, engineers, production and logistics workers.
