Thunderstorms in forecast; may bring high winds, hail

FORT WAYNE – Thunderstorms are heading back to the region Wednesday evening, and the National Weather Service in northern Indiana said they are likely to hit or go just south of Fort Wayne.

The weather service advisory said there is a 50 percent chance of storms in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio on Wednesday night and that some of them might be severe, with large hail and damaging winds.

The greatest risk of severe storms is along a line between Knox, Ind., Fort Wayne and Lima, Ohio, the weather service said. That line generally follows the route of U.S. 30.
