Motorcyclist ‘critical’ after T-bone crash

A Paulding County, Ohio, man remained in critical condition Wednesday in a Fort Wayne hospital after a crash Friday night, according to a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert post.

A 1999 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Chasity S. Cunningham, 34, of Toledo, was going south on Paulding County Road 171 about 6:40 p.m. Friday, and was attempting to turn left into a driveway, when the car crossed the path of a 2000 Buell motorcycle, the statement said.

It said the bike struck the car in the passenger side and that Daniel W. Bennett, 25, of Auglaize Township, was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

The car driver and a passenger were not injured, the statement said. It said Bennett was not wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
