3 burglars hit shop in Warsaw; no loss reported

Warsaw police said a 19-year-old man and two 17-year-olds broke into a business either late Friday or Saturday morning but apparently didn’t steal anything.

Officers were called to The Underground – a shop that sells smoking pipes and tobacco accessories – at 3865 Lake City Highway about 5 a.m. Saturday. There, they found the glass portion of the front door had been broken out.

Surveillance video showed three people – who police say had been pulled over by officers the night before – were involved in the break-in.

Police tracked down the three and arrested the man, Daniel W. Kitch, of Akron, Ind., on a charge of burglary with forcible entry, police said. The juveniles, who were not named, were released to their parents with charges pending.
