Jordan making progress

A quick check-in on the men's basketball team.

Other than the players lifting and working out individually, the only newsworthy item is point guard Justin Jordan, who tore the ACL of his left knee while playing in a pick-up basketball game in June, is making progress.

Jordan was expected to take over the point guard job of Jonny Marlin, who quit the team after the season. Jordan, the former North Side standout who transferred from Saint Louis, averaged 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists last season.

The hope is to have Jordan back in December, just before the Summit League schedule gets into full gear.

Also, there are still openings for the IPFW golf outing to be held Monday at Pine Valley Country Club, with a 1 p.m. start. Individuals or foursomes interested may call coach Tony Jasick at 481-5729.
