Irish add linebacker recruit

Notre Dame added another linebacker to its 2013 recruiting class today.

Doug Randolph, a 6-foot-3, 225-pounder from Woodberry Forest in Richmond, Va., announced he orally committed to the Irish.

Randolph posted on his Twitter account, "committed to NOTRE DAME #NDNATION #IRISHMOB13 !!!!!"

Randolph is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals.com and 24/7Sports.com. He is rated a three-start prospect by Scout.com.

Randolph was committed to Stanford, but he backed out of that decision earlier this week.

He joins Bishop Luers' Jaylon Smith, Alex Anzalone, Danny Mattingly and Michael Deeb as linebackers who have pledged to join Notre Dame.

Randolph will join former teammate C.J. Prosise at Notre Dame, and fellow Woodberry Forest linebacker Greer Martini has also committed to Notre Dame as part of the 2014 class.
