  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

Women's volleyball team falls at Michigan State

IPFW took undefeated Michigan State to five sets, but lost 3-2 at Jenison Field House in East Lansing, Mich. on Friday.

The loss ended a six-match winning streak for the Mastodons (7-2), who had four players reach double figures in kills. Emily Spencer led the way with 13 kills, followed by 11 from Haley Emenhiser and 10 each from Hailie Ripley and Kendall Wienkes.

IPFW won the first and fourth sets, 25-23 and 25-22, marking the first time this season that State has given up two sets in one match. Coming into Friday's match, the Spartans (7-0) had lost just one set.

At the same time, IPFW had given up one set in its six-match streak.

Michigan State won the final set 15-9 after winning the second and third sets, 25-22 and 25-15.
