Arts update

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: The Fort Wayne Art League will observe its 75th anniversary at noon today at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, 311 E. Main St.

AT THE LIBRARY:

•Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, will have “Totally Terrific Tuesdays” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Young Adults Services.

•The Aboite branch, 5630 Coventry Lane, will present “Art for Homeschool Teens” at 2 p.m. Mondays and “Art for Homeschoolers” at 2 p.m. Thursdays.

•The Grabill branch, 13521 State St., Grabill, will have “Homeschool Art: Printmaking” at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

•The New Haven branch, 648 Green St., will have “Too Fun Tuesday: The Wonder of Michelangelo” at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

•The Pontiac branch, 2215 Hanna St., offers “Sit and Stitch” knitting at 4:30 p.m. Thursdays.

•The Woodburn branch, 4701 Indiana 101 N., will have “Yarn Lover’s Gathering” at 7 p.m. Thursdays.

CELEBRITY DANCERS CHOSEN: The following local celebrities have been chosen to participate in Dancing With the Fort Wayne Stars: Andrew Ables, human resources manager at OmniSource; Natalie Betts, owner of Anytime Fitness; Carol Busse, community volunteer; Ryan Campbell, CFO of Glenbrook Automotive Group; Becca Davis, pharmaceutical sales specialist; Shelby Lamm, community volunteer; Kerri Morningstar, Century 21 Bradley Realty agent; Brian Nordan, Afdent general manager; Dave Thompson, vice president of direct sales at Vera Bradley; and Ted Van Antwerp, owner of Van Antwerp Sales.

CLASSES/WORKSHOPS:

•Artlink, Auer Center for Arts and Culture, 300 E. Main St., will offer “Pastels: Explore the Medium of Degas, Cassatt and Whistler,” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $40 for members and $45 for nonmembers. “Kids Art Exploration,” will be presented from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Sept. 26. •Wassenberg Art Center, 643 S. Washington St., Van Wert, Ohio, will offer “”Decorative Ceramic Carving” Wednesday and Thursday. Cost is $45 for members and $50 for nonmembers. Also presented will be “Classic Watercolors” Tuesday. Cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.

KAUFFMAN APPOINTED: Kristin Kauffman has been appointed as the new director of the Rejoice children’s choir at Goshen College Community School of the Arts.
