This week, I share a pattern that uses bulky leftovers or bits of extra yarn and chat with Mira Cole of Baah! Yarns.
Market Night Tam
It's the return of the Tam series, for at least a little bit. I have four ready for this group, so it will be all tams, all the time through September here on the podcast. As usual, I'm getting my names from a Robert Burns poem.
If you want to knit this, use bulky-weight yarn, or whatever gives you a nice fabric at 3 stitches per inch. I used my own woolen-spun Corriedale and small amounts of a random stash yarn that was about the same weight. I noticed I was going to run out of yarn using just the Corriedale, so about 3 inches after the increase round, I began working 1-row stripes. Instructions on avoiding jogs at the stripe color changes are included in the pattern.
Chat
I met Mira at TNNA. I loved talking with her about her yarns, colors, and why she knit a QR code (I called them "QC" codes, for some reason).
