Irish earn weekly honors

Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson was named the FBS Independent offensive player of the week, and cornerback Bennett Jackson was named the defensive player of the week for their performances in Saturday's 20-17 home win over Purdue.

Golson threw for 289 yards and a touchdown, along with scoring on a 3-yard run.

Jackson had two interceptions and two tackles.
