South Side girls soccer destined for more?

The South Side girls soccer team were half of a rarity last year when they won a sectional title, along with the Archers' boys team.

Tuesday's 6-0 loss to Class 2A No. 8 Bishop Dwenger doesn't bode well for South Side's chances of winning the sectional title again this year.

But don't count out the Archers just yet.

Despite a 5-4 record and a 1-4 mark in the SAC, South Side could still be have more playoff magic this year.

The Archers play in a tough conference and will not face anything like Dwenger or Snider or Bishop Luers in a sectional field that includes Bellmont, Wayne, New Haven and Norwell.

And South Side has plenty of talent in Murray State-recruit Kaitlyn Hayes and standout athletes (and pretty fair basketball players) Ariana Simmons and Brittni Clopton.

Don't fret Archer soccer fans, you could be in a celebratory mood again come the postseason.
