Wisconsin leads Fort Wayne 2-1 after six innings of Game 1 of the Midwest League championship series Wednesday at Fox Cities Stadium.
The Timber Rattlers took the lead with a run in the fourth inning.
Yadiel Rivera collected Wisconsin's first hit with a one-out double in the fourth inning. He was tagged out during a rundown on a fielder's choice hit by Max Walla. Walla moved up to second during the rundown.
Rafael Neda then hit a double to left field. Kyle Gaedele jumped and almost made a great catch. Instead, the ball hit off the wall and Walla scored, giving the Timber Rattlers a 2-1 lead.
There hasn't been a whole lot of offense. Fort Wayne has one hit, a single in the second inning by Travis Whitmore.
Wisconsin has just two hits. Fort Wayne starting pitcher gave up two runs on two hits in five innings. He struck out five and walked three.
