Keys to the game

Colin Rea and relievers Johnny Barbato and Matt Stites combined for a two-hitter as the TinCaps topped Wisconsin 5-1 in Game 2 of the Midwest League championship series.

The series is tied at 1. Game 3 is Saturday at Parkview Field.

Here are the highlights.

Great start: Rea gave up one run on two hits in seven innings. He stuck out three and walked two.

Great relief: Barbato pitched a perfect eighth. Stites retired the side in order in the ninth. He struck out Nick Ramirez to end the game.

Key sequence: Kyle Gaedele and Tyler Stubblefield had consecutive doubles in the fifth inning. Gaedele scored on Stubblefield's hit to give the TinCaps a 2-1 lead. Stubblefield later scored on a sacrifice fly.

Going deep: Lee Orr hit a home run in the second inning, his fourth homer of the postseason. Duanel Jones hit a two-run home run in the ninth.

Bad news: Outfielder Travis Jankowski is out for the rest of the series, according to manager Jose Valentin, with a rib fracture. Jankowski was hit by a pitch in the first inning. He played the top of the inning, but did not take the field for the bottom of the first.

Quotable:

"We said 'we need to go back to Fort Wayne tied at 1.' Colin showed up and gave us an unbelievable pitching performance and our bats were able to come alive when we needed them."

- Stubblefield
