A California man is going to prison for trying to molest a child.
As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Travis Wiley, 37, was sentenced Wednesday in Allen Superior Court to 20 years in prison, with 10 years of the sentence suspended. He also will serve five years on probation, according to court documents.
In August, Wiley pleaded guilty to attempted child molesting.
Wiley, of Vacaville, Calif., was arrested in late May after a confidential informant told police Wiley offered to pay $150 to have sexual contact with her 11-year-old daughter in a hotel room.
Wiley met with the informant in a vehicle and during a conversation recorded by police, Wiley said the girl could give him a “massage,” a term the informant understood as a sex act, according to court documents.
Police took Wiley into custody after he got out of the vehicle, according to court documents.
