Luers fires Matt Lindsay

Bishop Luers announced Sunday that Matt Lindsay was fired from the school.

Lindsay was Luers' head football coach and athletic director.

Lindsay was placed on administrative leave Thursday. Lindsay, 56, told The Journal Gazette at the time that he didn't know when he would return.

Kyle Lindsay, Matt's son, said in a text message to the paper that his father was taking a leave of absence because of personal/medical issue.

But Luers principal Mary Keefer said in Sunday's news release that Lindsay was not on a medical leave, and his employment at Bishop Luers High School was terminated as a result of his violations of school and Diocesan policies and his violations of his employment contract obligations.
