Fishing lure club returning to city
The Grand Wayne Center will play host to the National Fishing Lure Collectors Clubs three-day national convention in July 2014 after a successful first run this year.
More than 1,000 visitors from the U.S. and three other countries attended this year.
That attendance mark made it an easy decision for organizers to return, even though convention centers in Dayton, Ohio, Louisville, Ky., and other cities had vied for the event.
We simply could not have been happier with the Grand Wayne Convention Center, the downtown hotels, and the city itself, said David Saalfrank, co-host of the 2012 convention.
The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club (www.nflcc.org) is a non-profit, educational, international organization founded in 1976 to promote fishing tackle collecting and to assist in the location, identification and trading of vintage fishing-related equipment.
