Ali Solis in 2008

Former Fort Wayne catcher makes major league debut

Ali Solis, a member of the Fort Wayne Wizards in 2008 and TinCaps in 2009, became the 112th former Fort Wayne player to make the big leagues. He made his debut Sunday in San Diego's 12-11 win over Colorado.

Solis caught 35 games for the Wizards in 2008. He hit .159 with two home runs and 16 RBI. Solis played in 13 games for the TinCaps in 2009, hitting .208 with four home runs and 10 RBI.

Solis went 0-1, being used as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning.
