Raymond Street home burns; no one injured

A blaze heavily damaged a house Saturday night southeast of downtown, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Fire crews were sent to 2616 Raymond St. shortly after 11:30 p.m. With flames coming from the back of the one-story house, firefighters went inside and quickly extinguished a kitchen fire.

No one was in the house when firefighters arrived. Nobody was injured. A man who lives there told the fire department he came home and found his house ablaze. The cause is under investigation.
