The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of theft and fraud.About 12:30 p.m.A former Garrett police officer has been charged with theft following a nine-month investigation, Indiana State Police said tonight.
Michael S. Reneau, 40, was charged with one count of felony theft, and was being held in the DeKalb County Jail, state police at Fort Wayne said in a statement.
One more arrest is expected as a result of the investigation, police said.
The statement said Reneau had been in charge of screening military surplus items for possible use by Garrett police. The charge alleges that Reneau used the position to obtain surplus items and sell them for personal gain, the statement said.
