Women's volleyball team wins first in league

IPFW wasn't about to start the Summit League season 0-2.

Threatened to lose its second straight conference match, IPFW rallied after dropping the first set to win the next three in a 3-1 victory over IUPUI on Tuesday at the Gates Center.

The Mastodons (11-3, 1-1 Summit) lost the opening set 25-21, but won the next three, 25-19, 25-19, 25-21 to knock IUPUI (8-6, 2-1) from the unbeaten ranks in the league.

Emily Spencer had 14 kills for IPFW, while Haley Emenhiser and Kendall Wienkes had 13 each. Tessa McGill had 29 digs. Megan Steenhuysen had four aces.
