Weekend blitz sees 27 DWI arrests

This past weekend, Indiana State Police targeted impaired and dangerous drivers.

Statewide, troopers throughout the state arrested 346 impaired drivers, issued 4,105 traffic tickets, 6,646 written warnings and made 360 arrests for various criminal offenses, according to a written statement issued by the Fort Wayne post.

The local post, which serves Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley counties, issued the following results:

Traffic citations: 360

Warnings: 550

DWI arrests: 27

Troopers from the Fort Wayne District also arrested 21 people on various criminal charges, the statement said.
