Saving Maumee, one walk at a time

Rosanne Miller spreads swamp grass seeds along the bank of the Maumee River near the outflow of the city sewage treatment plant Tuesday as part of a Save Maumee Eco-Walk. Eco-Walks take place at 4 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Walkers, who meet at Anthony Boulevard and Niagara Drive, planted wetland plants and seeds then picked up garbage on their walk back.
