Assailants sought after Berne attacks

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in finding whoever made several separate attacks against people on Monday.

The attacks took place in rural Berne, and the masked assailants were in a light gray or light green station wagon, similar to a Chevrolet HHR or Chrysler PT Cruiser, the sheriff’s department said Tuesday.

The vehicle had damage to the rear driver-side door and to the rear passenger-side quarter panel, the release said.

Sheriff Shane Rekeweg would not describe the specific nature of the attacks. He said no one was taken to a hospital and that investigators were making progress in the case. He declined further comment.

Anyone with information about the attackers or their vehicle is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 260-724-5345 or Adams County Crime Stoppers at 260-692-2882.
