New-school zone is enforced in Van Wert

Statement as issued Thursday by the police department:

The Van Wert City Police Department wants to remind motorists who regularly travel on S. Shannon St./SR 118 during the week that with the new elementary school now open, the marked 20-mph School Zone for motorists is now extended to include the new school property. It is important for all motorists to pay attention to their speed in that zone as officers from the Van Wert City Police Department will be monitoring speed during the restricted hours:

7:10 am to 8:20 am

2:25 pm to 3:45 pm
