Incident number: 11F121824
On 8/7/2011 while working as F254, I responded to a suspicious person at 5120 Desoto Drive (Glenaqua Pool). Dispatch advised XXXXX XXXXX called in to report that a male was taking pictures of girls at the pool and had left the scene approx. 15 minutes prior. The suspect possibly had the last name XXXXXXX and was last seen in a red Chevrolet Venture minivan bearing plate ######. The plate returned to XXXXXXX X. XXXXXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXXX.
Upon arrival, I met with XXXXX XXXXX who stated his daughter XXXXXXX approached him and stated that a male white with gray hair had pointed his phone at her and possibly taken her picture or used the recording device to record her. XXXXX advised the suspect saw his daughter approach him to report the incident at which time he left the scene and went out to his vehicle. XXXXX stated he went out in the parking lot to approach the subject and ask him about possibly taking a picture of his daughter.
XXXXX stated he approached XXXXXXX who was sitting in the front seat of his vehicle and asked him if he had taken any photographs of his daughter. XXXXX stated XXXXXXX became very nervous and held out his phone as if to show him there were no photos. XXXXX stated XXXXXXX'X hands were shaking rapidly and he pointed the phone at the dashboard and began deleting photos. XXXXX stated XXXXXXX refused to show him his phone and was pushing buttons rapidly to delete photos. XXXXX stated XXXXXXX then drove away in his vehicle.
XXXXX further stated there had been several allegations in the past involving XXXXXXX taking inappropriate photographs. At this time, XXXXXX XXXX approached me and stated she is a board member of the pool and XXXX XXXXXXXX later arrived on scene and identified herself as a board member of the pool.
XXXXX, XXXXXX, and XXXX stated XXXXXXX frequents the pool regularly but never comes with anyone. XXXXXX stated approx. 10 parents have approached her in the past and made allegations against XXXXXXX that he put a camera in his bag and used it to take pictures of young boys and girls in the locker room. XXXXXX specifically referred to a time that XXXXXXX was accused of laying in a beach chair around the pool with a camera. XXXXXX stated the camera was inside a bag that was placed between his legs and when he was approached by parents about the situation, he left the scene in his vehicle. No police report was ever made to document the incident. XXXXX stated he thought the behavior of XXXXXXX was odd but stated he never witnessed XXXXXXX taking pictures or saw any pictures on his camera. XXXXX further stated he thought several of the allegations were just rumors that kids may have circulated.
I later made contact with XXXXXXX XXXXXXX at Bishop Luers High School.
XXXXXXX stated he has been a member at Glenaqua Pool for approx. seven years. XXXXXXX stated he went to the pool today and it began raining so he went to leave. XXXXXXX stated as he was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot, XXXXX approached him and asked him if he had taken any pictures of his daughter. XXXXXXX denied taking pictures and offered to give his phone to XXXXX to let him look through the phone. XXXXXXX stated XXXXx didn't want to look at his phone and he took two pictures of the dashboard to show him that the camera worked. While speaking with XXXXXXX, he allowed me to look at his cell phone and I did not find any appropriate pictures. XXXXXXX stated he would never take inappropriate pictures of young children and stated the only pictures of children he had on his phone was of his new born granddaughter.
XXXXXXX informed me of the previous allegation several years prior in which someone at the pool thought he was taking pictures of kids at the pool. XXXXXXX stated he was sitting in a chair and using his camera to review football plays and he was approached by a parent who thought he was using the camera to photograph kids. XXXXXXX stated he was not taking pictures of children and was at the pool with a friend that day who could verify his story.
XXXXXXX was advised a report would be on file.
