    Komets general manager David Franke still believes he will have a coach in place by June 1, though he declined to get into specifics about potential candidates – with one exception.

This is amazing. Of the 31 players the Komets have on their training-camp roster, 19 are first- or second-year players.

That's a huge change from the CHL or IHL, eh?.

Coach Al Sims had better develop these guys in the Komets' first ECHL season.

I don't know that he's ever had a roster like this. At least not since he was with Reading of the ECHL in 2001-02 or Milwaukee of the American Hockey League before that.

By the way, I stumbled upon promising writeup on Komets newcomer Dan Nycholat -- click here -- but full disclosure, in case you weren't a fan of his, Tristin Llewellyn (traded by the Komets last season) was rated higher.
