1 hurt in kitchen fire

FORT WAYNE – One person had minor injuries in a fire before dawn Thursday on the city’s near-east side.

Fort Wayne firefighters were called to 3305 Rodgers Ave. at 4:30 a.m., according to a written statement issued by the department. When crews arrived, two adults and a child were already out of the home.

The fire was under control in 10 minutes, the statement said, and the kitchen had minor fire, water and smoke damage.

The person who was injured was not identified by the department.
