With the weather forecast for rain, wind, and colder-than-normal temperatures, Fort Wayne’s Baer Field Speedway has announced that they will postpone this Saturday’s Sunoco Season Championships until a later date. “We advise all our local racers to keep their cars together,” said Speedway promoter Tom Isch. “We’re going to take a look at the long-range forecast over the next few weeks. If it warms back up (like we expect), we will reschedule this event and have one last party before I’m done.” As for a reschedule date, Isch said, “We’ll take a look at what other tracks are doing in the area and try to find something where there’s not much else going on. If we find the right weekend and the forecast is good, we’ll go. We might even bring back the old “Halloween Challenge” from the past. I’m not going anywhere (yet)” Isch did rule out moving the event to the following weekend (September 29) as the Speedway already has a karting event scheduled for that date.
