Power restored in I&M outage, utility says

Power has been restored to about 4,500 Indiana Michigan Power customers affected by an outage today, the utility said.

A squirrel came into contact with equipment at a substation, causing the outage, said YaVonda Ulfig, an I&M spokeswoman.

Fort Wayne Community Schools reported on its Facebook page that Arlington and Croninger elementary schools in northeast Fort Wayne were without power and telephones.
