Three people were hurt Thursday when their car lost control and rolled over on a Noble County road, the county sheriff's department said.
In a statement, police said Ashley Adcox of Kendallville, whose age was not disclosed, was traveling west on County Road 415 North about 6:40 p.m. at a high rate of speed.
As her 1999 Mercury Mountaineer approached a hill crest, the vehicle became airborne, the statement said. Adcox lost control, the statement said, then braked and struck a culvert on the south side of the road, becoming airborne again.
The vehicle rotated and rolled over an unknown number of times, the statement said, and a juvenile passenger was thrown onto the road. It said the vehicle came to a stop in a field southwest of the intersection with County Road 300 East.
Adcox was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne in serious condition, the statement said. The juvenile was flown to Parkview in serious condition. Another passenger, Jerimiah Tackett, 21, of Kendallville, was taken to Parkview Noble Hospital in serious condition.
The Noble County EMS, the Albion Fire Department and Parkview Samaritan assisted at the scene.
