Nelson is a 3-year-old neutered black and white flat coated retriever/collie mix. He is a large sized dog.
“I was originally adopted from the Allen County SPCA then brought back because I was too much for the family.
“I am a very sweet boy who is extremely happy! I am always wagging my whole body! I love to lick and give you kisses!
“I will need plenty of daily exercise to keep me happy! I do well with my housebreaking but will probably need an adjustment period when I come home with you so please be patient with me. I will need a home with a fence or trolley so I can exercise safely.
“I am a very smart boy and already know some commands. The staff recommends crate training me to keep me safe during the day when you cannot watch me. I do very well with other dogs. I need to go to a home without cats as I do not like some of them very well!
“The staff feels I would do well with children of all ages as long as they treat me nicely. I will need frequent brushing to keep my shedding down.
“If you are looking for a best buddy to have fun with, please come visit with me today!”
He is available for adoption at the Allen County SPCA, 4914 Hanna St.
The shelter is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
