Y ears teaching: 8

City born: Fort Wayne

Last book read: The last book I read was a read-aloud to my class, “Chrysanthemum” by Kevin Henkes. I love his children’s books and the lessons that they teach. Also, I am currently reading, “Teach like a Champion” by Doug Lemov. It is always great learning new techniques to help increase the academic success of my students.

Person who influenced you to be a teacher: My first-grade teacher, Mrs. Ensley, influenced me the most to become a teacher. She was a kind and loving teacher, and I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.

Nominated by: Shawna Stutzman

Reason for nomination: “Miss Greulach cares about her students and puts her students and teaching first – this shows in her work. She always promotes reading, reading, reading! At the end of the school year, she sent home a packet with each student that included activities for them to do over the summer in order to retain what they learned in kindergarten and to prepare for first grade. Full of daily and weekly activities, this packet is something we will have around for years as our youngest child will benefit from it as well.”
