Snider, Norwell and Garrett won their respective classes in a high school marching band contest in Kendallville on Saturday.
Those schools and others competed in the East Noble Invitational at East Noble High School.
In Class A, Snider was first and Huntington North was second. Snider won caption awards for music, visual, general effect, auxiliary and percussion.
In Class B, Garrett was first, Columbia City was second and South Side was third. Wayne and New Haven won participation awards. Garrett won caption awards for music and percussion. Columbia City won caption awards for visual, general effect and auxiliary.
In Class C, Norwell was first, Concordia was second and Woodlan was third. Wawasee, Bellmont and Heritage earned participation awards.
Norwell won caption awards for music, visual, general effect, auxiliary and percussion.
In Class D, Hicksville, Ohio, was second and Manchester was fourth.
Norwell was named grand champion and Bellmont was awarded people’s choice.
In the Kingsman Carnival of Bands at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Homestead was first in Class A, Snider was second and Carroll was third. Homestead won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.
Adams Central was first in Class D and won caption awards for music, visual and general effect.
In Class C, Leo was second and won caption awards for music and visual.
