The opponent's view

Here's what Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald had to say about Indiana during the Big Ten teleconference Tuesday.

"When I watch the Hoosiers, they had a tough setback when they lost Tre (Roberson), but Cameron (Coffman) and Nate (Sudfeld) picked up right where they left off," Fitzgerald said. "They have a stable of weapons. They are two-deep across the board at running back, tight end and receiver. From an offensive standpoint, I've been very impressed with how they've been able to move the ball both running it and throwing it. Making great decisions and taking care of the football.

"… Their defense, from the standpoint from where we saw them when we got ready to play the Hoosiers a year ago, has dramatically improved. They are very sound. They play team defense."
