Crews bring garage blaze under control in 12 minutes

Fire heavily damaged a garage on Fort Wayne's south side late Tuesday.

Firefighters were called at 10:50 p.m. to a detached garage at 4225 Bowser Ave., just north of McKinnie Avenue. Crews found heavy flames, but brought the blaze under control in 12 minutes, the fire department said.

No one was inside. The cause is under investigation. The fire caused heavy fire, smoke and water damage, the department said.
