Seriously, where else but in soccer, and in Europe, would you get something like this? You celebrate a national hero, Zinedine Zidane, by immortalizing his most infamous act? How (weirdly) cool is that?
For comparison purposes, imagine the city of Kansas City erecting a statue of Bernard Pollard taking out Tom Brady's knee. Or the city of Boston unveiling a statue of Kevin McHale clotheslining Kurt Rambis. Or the same city immortalizing, in bronze, Pedro Martinez beating up Don Zimmer.
Like I said: Weirdly cool.
