"Giving a child too much responsibility for a pet too early puts them at risk of being bitten.”The University of Saint Francis will celebrate the feast of its patron saint, Francis of Assisi, with a Blessing of the Pets ceremony on Sunday.
“Pets of all sizes, shapes and species” will be welcome, the university said in a statement.
The ceremony is at 6:15 p.m. at campus, 2701 Spring St., in front of Brookside, formerly known as the Bass mansion, near the St. Francis statue.
