FORT WAYNE – Charlie Scott, Patrick Holly and Nathan Schleinkofer won singles matches for Bishop Dwenger in a 5-0 win against South Side at the Concordia boys tennis sectional Wednesday.
Luke Mlakar and Dillon Oswald won at No. 1 doubles. Jacob Maskal and Matt Woodrum won at No. 2 doubles.
Bishop Dwenger faces Concordia today. North Side and New Haven meet in the other semifinal.
HOMESTEAD SECTIONAL: Bishop Luers and Canterbury will meet in the championship. The Knights defeated Wayne 5-0 in one semifinal. Canterbury topped Homestead 5-0 in the other.
Isaiah Klotz, Eric Woehnker and David Shank won singles matches for Bishop Luers. William Wright and Chris Yahanda won at No. 1 doubles in Canterburys victory. Patrick Downs and Chad Schouweiler won at No. 2 doubles. The championship is 4:15 p.m. today.
CARROLL SECTIONAL: Carroll and Northrop advanced to the semifinals. The doubles teams of Cody Chase and Cory Daman (No. 1) and Daniel Quade and Dillon Fernando (No. 2) won for the Chargers in a 4-1 victory against Snider. Alex Stavretis, Tyler Jordan and John Tuttle won singles matches for Northrop in a 5-0 victory against Churubusco. Carroll faces Leo, and Northrop takes on Blackhawk Christian today.
HOMESTEAD 7, SNIDER 0: Robbie Clay scored three goals for the Spartans.
CARROLL 7, LEO 3: Jackie Phipps made 31 saves for the Chargers. Alex McBane and Logan Gottschalk scored twice in the win.
NORTHROP 4, BISHOP DWENGER 1: Martin Munn made 28 saves for the Bruins. Ethan Mitchell, Wade Weiks, Mitchell Wilkins and Cale Sanderson scored goals.
