Scouting report: Trine rallied from a 10-0 deficit last week to defeat Taylor 28-13 and avoid its third consecutive loss. Mike Inge had 130 rushing yards, Ryan Hargraves threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns and JaVontae Hence had 109 receiving yards and 92 yards on punt returns. Trine has three touchdowns this season on special teams – two punt returns and a kickoff return. Opponents are 11 for 11 in red-zone scores and have scored eight touchdowns in 11 trips. Kalamazoo, which lost last week to Centre, has lived on the edge this season. Of their three wins, the Hornets won by a combined 10 points (margins of 1, 2 and 7). Kalamazoo is paced by running back Dimeko Price and quarterback Aaron McGuire. They average 188 rushing yards and have combined for nine touchdowns. McGuire has thrown three touchdown passes and eight interceptions. The game is the MIAA opener for both teams.
