Ricardo Allen and Josh Johnson returned interceptions for touchdowns as Purdue topped Marshall 51-41 Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.
Here are the highlights.
Record pick, part 1: Allen intercepted a pass and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown. It was the fourth interception return for a touchdown in Allen's career. He broke a school record that he previous shared with Mike Rose and Rod Woodson.
Record pick, part 2: Johnson intercepted a pass and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown later in the second quarter. It was the first time Purdue had ever returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game.

He had three touchdowns… Marshall quarterback Rakeem Cato went 45 for 68 for 439 yards and five touchdowns. Marshall wide receiver Tommy Shuler caught 19 passes for 200 yards.
Still going: Purdue wide receiver Antavian Edison caught six passes for 99 yards and one touchdown. He has caught at least one pass for 25 consecutive games.
Up next: Purdue opens conference play against Michigan at 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at Ross-Ade Stadium.
The opponent's view: "We wanted a 'W.' Even though we lost, we can only go up from here. We didn't win, so the stats don't matter to us."
"The interceptions are a great thing for us, but at the end of the day, coming out with the win is more important."
