A man was listed in critical condition after he was shot during an altercation at a club on the southeast side of the city early Saturday, according to Fort Wayne police.
Police have not identified the victim pending family notification.
Officers responded to a report of a large fight at the VFW in the 2400 block of Winter Street about 2 a.m. Someone at the scene had called 911, saying there was a possible gunshot.
Police were unable to find a shooting victim at the scene, but a short time later received a call that said a man with an apparent gunshot wound had been brought into a local hospital, police spokesman Officer John Chambers said.
The victim was listed in critical condition upon arriving at the hospital.
Investigators were told that the man had been shot at the VFW and transported to the hospital.
No arrests have been made, and there are no suspects, police said.Police were continuing to collect information from possible witnesses.
