Civilian returnees lost in shuffle
I would like to say to all our veterans a big thank you for fighting for our freedom. This letter is not meant to offend any veteran. It is to bring out something that is and has been left in the dark for a long time.
Civilian workers, just like our veterans, went voluntarily to Afghanistan and/or Iraq for many different reasons. The civilian contractors are just like our veterans, except when they return home and they have lost a body part, have post traumatic stress disorder or other systemic problems, there is no support system for them. They are not able to go the Veterans Administration for assistance and the employer they worked for in these two countries basically says, Sorry about your luck.
Somehow we need to recognize these unsung individuals who have been lost in the red tape. Someone should be accountable for assisting them, if not Veterans Affairs then their past employers.
I had two sons who went over to Iraq. Both came home alive (thank God), but they are not the same sons who left. One was in the Army and one was a civilian worker.
I have spent the past two years trying to decide whether I should write this letter, but I believe the time is now. Someone needs to do something about getting our troops and civilians out of these countries – and to assist the civilian workers in some way. Now!

Fire Obama; restore America
The election is a clear choice between those who want limited government and those who want to expand the government to create a utopian society patterned after worldwide socialist countries.
The mainstream media, lap dogs for President Obama, are telling America that Mitt Romney cannot win. This is a first class lie! The obvious propaganda (not news) goal is to discourage the Republican opposition.
The conservative movement that began in the 2010 election is in full force and preparing to get the voter out on Nov. 6. Most people will be surprised by the vote; I will not.
The American people are finally waking up to the media agenda (not news) and their good common sense tells them that all is not well in Obama land. They see (1) federal debt up, (2) unemployment up, (3) gas prices up, (4) food stamps up, (5) household income down, and (6) hourly wages down. If the mainstream media were honest, they would be investigating and reporting on the real issues.
If you feel something is wrong at the top in America, I urge you to get out and vote in November. Lets restore America as the world symbol of real freedom. Fire Obama!

‘Pro-life’ covers numerous topics
When people speak of pro-life, they generally are thinking of ways to reduce the number of abortions. Pro-life and pro-choice are often treated as if they were opposites. They are not mutually exclusive. There is always choice involved. The question is: Who does the choosing?.
But there is much more to being pro-life. For example, advocating environmental policies to safeguard clean air and water is certainly a pro-life activity. We also need to consider the very life of the planet itself, and the lives of the billions of people who will come after us if we leave a habitable planet for them. We know which political party has the better record of protecting the environment.
Weakening Medicare is not a pro-life activity; neither are attempts to weaken Social Security. Many seniors depend on these two programs for their very survival.
Consider the number of people who die early because of stress-induced illnesses. The stress from losing ones home, pension, life savings or job can be enormous. Which political party has favored de-regulating banks and financial institutions, allowing them to rip off the public and causing these horrendous financial stresses?
Ending the war in Iraq and bringing our troops home are certainly pro-life activities. Saving the country from an economic depression is an important activity in support of life.
So which political party has the better record of safeguarding life? It seems fairly obvious to me.
Be sure to vote. Dont let anyone tell you whom you must vote for. Consider all the issues and decide for yourself. That is your right and your obligation as a citizen.
