Woman a no-show at case sentencing

Ramona Updike was supposed to be sentenced in Allen Superior Court on Monday for stabbing another woman in the arm and abdomen this past spring.

But she didn’t show up.

Now, a warrant has been issued for the 51-year-old Fort Wayne woman, who will be locked up without bond upon her arrest, according to court records.

Updike was accused of getting into a dispute with a woman in April over borrowing a car. At some point, Updike stabbed the woman in the right biceps and lower abdomen.

Initially charged with felony battery using a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness, Updike pleaded guilty to the first count early last month, according to court records.
