Interstate 69 will have intermittent lane restrictions Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Union Chapel Road bridge just north of Exit 316 while the concrete bridge deck is poured, the Indiana Department of Transportation said today.
The restrictions will be from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday and from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, weather permitting, the transportation department said in a statement.
Specific lanes will be restricted while the bridge is being poured overhead, but otherwise the interstate will remain open during the work, the statement said.
It said arrow boards and barrels will direct traffic during the restrictions.
Since the bridge area is a construction zone, the speed limit will be 55 mph from about the Interstate 469 exit to the south and mile marker 319 to the north, the statement said. It said temporary limits of 45 mph will be imposed when lights are flashing.
