Saints advance on penalty kicks

After a scoreless regulation period and two seven-minute overtime sessions that didn’t provide a goal, the sectional soccer game between Carroll and Bishop Dwenger went to penalty kicks, and Dwenger outscored the Chargers 3-2 for the 1-0 victory at Hefner Field.

Dalton Jasper, Nicholas Heiny and Kenny Gase scored penalty kicks for the Saints (14-2). Bayden Lee and Tyler Glass had PK goals for Carroll (12-6).

“It was back and forth,” Dwenger coach Carlos Cruz said. “Both teams played with a lot of heart. The first half for us, we didn’t have a real good rhythm and we made some adjustments going into second half and created lot more opportunities. Unfortunately, nothing fell.”
