Dog adoption fees get cut in half

To celebrate National Dog Adoption Month, Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control is cutting dog adoption fees in half for all dogs 1 year and older.

Animal Care & Control said it’s committed to placing healthy, sound, kid-friendly dogs with individuals and families who are ready for the long-term commitment.

See photos of the dogs at www.fwacc.org or visit Animal Care & Control, 3020 Hillegas Road. Normal adoption hours are from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; until 7 p.m. Wednesdays; and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of the month.

The normal dog adoption fee of $85 will be reduced to $42.50 thanks to a special national grant; fee includes the spay/neuter surgery, microchip and first combination vaccine. Local vet clinics will donate the first wellness check-up.
