Entering this season, Bishop Dwenger figured its quarterback situation was going to be a constant. Instead, it's been anything but settled all year.
The Saints (3-5, 3-3 SAC) got off to a rocky start when junior Mike Fiacable was lost for the season to a knee injury during two-a-days. Then his replacement, junior John Kelty, went down in the scrimmage.
In a 43-0 loss to Snider, the Saints used four quarterbacks. Cody Miller was 6 for 13 with 51 yards (and 21 yards rushing), Sam Schenkel was 0 for 8, Kelty was 1 for 3 and Peyton Philpot was 1 for 2 before being injured and helped off the field.
The four QBs combined to complete 8 of 26 passes for 87 yards, while Fiacable watched from the press box.
"Everything's going well," Fiacable said of his recovery before the game.
He didn't figure he would be ready for basketball season, though.
