Indiana 19 crash kills Harley rider

A crash early Thursday evening on Indiana 19 killed a Warsaw man riding a motorcycle.

Officers from the Indiana State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department were called to the crash at Division Road about 5 p.m.

According to a preliminary investigation, Arissa Grossman, 52, of Akron, Ind., was driving a 2009 Dodge Journey east on Division Road, stopped for a stop sign at the Indiana 19 intersection and then turned north into the path of the 2013 Harley Davidson Road Glide motorcycle.

The motorcycle, ridden by Thomas Witmer, 39, struck the Dodge in the driver’s side, state police said. Witmer, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown off the motorcycle.

Grossman was not injured and was cited for failing to yield to cross traffic, the statement said.
